Monday, July 20 - Fire Island Junior Sailover (Weather Permitting)

The forecast looks good so far, but please check your email Sunday night and Monday morning for any weather updates and possible cancellations (in which case we have a REGULAR class on Monday).  See below about rain dates.

Students will sail about 4 miles to Talisman Beach on Fire Island, enjoy a brown bag lunch, games, and beach time, then sail the 4 miles back.

Schedule

  • Drop-off: 7:30-8:00 AM (no later than 8:00)
  • Pick-up: Approximately 3:30-4:00 PM

Every student 's parent MUST complete the RSVP/permission slip. Students cannot return early. If your child cannot attend the Sailover, there is no alternate class that day.

Please review these important rules with your child:

  • Stay with the group at all times, no hiding.
  • Do NOT go to the ocean side or into the ocean - there are no lifeguards at Talisman and ocean undertow can quickly overtake you.
  • No littering - bring your trash back to discard.
  • Listen to and respect your instructors.
  • Tell an instructor immediately if someone is breaking a rule.

Our instructors are Red Cross certified and are there to keep everyone safe. Students who do not follow safety rules may not be permitted to attend future Sailovers.

Frequently Asked Questions
